Aadhaar update
Change your name, address, date of birth or mobile number, or update biometrics. Saathi shows the documents and the fee first. You do the update on the official UIDAI site or at an Aadhaar centre.
What to keep ready
- Proof of identity: a document with your photo and name
- Proof of address: a document showing where you live now
- Proof of date of birth: needed when you change your date of birth
- At a centre, take originals; they are scanned and returned. Online, upload clear scans.
The full list of accepted documents is on uidai.gov.in.
What it costs
- Document update on the myAadhaar portal: free until 14 June 2027.
- At an Aadhaar centre: ₹75 for a document or demographic update, ₹125 for a biometric update. A demographic update done with a biometric update is free.
- UIDAI’s pages have given different dates for children’s biometric updates, so check myAadhaar before you pay.
Official sites
